St. Peter’s holds a special “backpack blessing” Sunday right before school starts every year. In the month prior to this special service, we collect school supplies for local schools demonstrating need. The list of supplies is provided by the schools and based on items that are lacking or in shortage. The supplies are blessed on Backpack Blessing Sunday and then donated to the schools. Children and educators that attend the special service receive a backpack tag or key chain with pertinent verses as a special keepsake.
